Spring concert
performed by
Mehr Als Wir
Matthias Ehrig (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, stompbox)
and
Andreas Uhlmann (trombone, flugelhorn, beatbox, synthesizer)
The band name is a promise. Using loop techniques and clever arrangements, the two musicians create an unexpectedly full band sound. Stylistically, ‘Mehr Als Wir’ blend pop, jazz, EDM and acoustic world music. Despite various detours into the seriousness of life, the band’s music is simply joyful. The pieces are full of twists and surprises. Like images on photographic paper in a darkroom, their songs develop – and linger.
‘Mehr Als Wir’ make instrumental music. But not without telling the stories behind the pieces – some of them opulent – and painting them acoustically at their concerts.
Entrance fee: Euro 10,-

One cello – 12 cellists?!
A concert for
cello, looping and electronics
with
Christoph Schenker (Leipzig)
A concert that does not take place within a purely classical framework, as Christoph Schenker plays and creates live pieces with a loop station, various effects and electronic amplification that go far beyond the sound of a solo cello.
As CELLORAZADE, with duo partner Sascha Werchau, he has already thrilled the Musiksommer audience – now new sound experiences in his solo performance.

Summer concert 2
Malte Vief’s
‘KAMMER’
Still waters are Vief
with
Malte Vief
(composition and guitar)
and accompaniment by
Florian Mayer (violin)
Powerful musical movements, yet even, sometimes meditative-repititive and – what is particularly pleasantly unusual – inexhaustibly eventful.
Accompanied by cello and violin, Malte Vief’s KAMMER is precision work. Reflective, creative and once again as innovative as sow, the sky is brought down to earth rather than flown away from it with wonderfully touching and surprising melodies and nuances.
The true and beautiful.
